Dining Recommendations

There are numerous restaurants in the Lincoln City and Gleneden Beach area. Some are very good and some are very disappointing and dirty. For our guests, we recommend the following restaurants that are consistently enjoyable as we are assured that our guests will not be disappointed.

For breakfast with a view we recommend the Sunroom at Salishan with a view overlooking the golf course or for ocean views locally there is the Surfrider in Lincoln Beach, 5 minutes South of Admiral’s Retreat. The Surfrider is an older resort but has wonderful ocean views and whale sightings at times.

In Lincoln City there is the Surftides Resort at the West end of NW 35th. It is an older resort that serves a great German Pancake and has incredible whale sightings at times. One morning while having breakfast there, I watched a Gray Whale mother and calf being stalked by a pod of Orcas and the mother breached straight up and fell like a logpole back into the water. It was incredible. For huge portions of homemade food we would recommend the Wildflower Grill on the North side of Lincoln City past McDonald’s as you head out of town.

Adjacent to Oregon Beach Admiral’s Retreat is the Salishan Lodge with the Prime Steakhouse. Resort atmosphere is very nice with a grand stone fireplace and wood crackling. Their halibut fish and chips are very good as well as a chicken pie that is the size of an apple or cherry pie, it is HUGE! This place is a great value for kids. We recommend the halibut fish and chips for kids, inexpensive and big servings. They have many other selections and you can view their menu HERE. They also have a Grill located in the Golf Clubhouse that is within walking distance of Admiral’s Retreat serving breakfast and lunch. Their Sunroom in the lodge also serves breakfast and lunch. Reservations for the Prime Steakhouse are recommended and their number is 800-452-2300 or visit their website Here.

Heading South:

Five minutes south in Depoe Bay is TidalRaves. We love this restaurant, as most of Oregon and beyond does. Very nice people, incredible food right on the water. I have literally watched whales feeding outside the window several times as they are located right on the cliff above the whale feeding beds. This restaurant has it all and we highly recommend it. Reservations are a must!! They have a big reputation and they are busy year ’round. They can be reached at 541-765-2995 or visit their website Here.

Just past TidalRaves on the South end of Depoe Bay is Mazatlan. It is a very inexpensive mexican food restaurant that is family owned and serves good food in the $5 to $10 range. Wonderful people and great views of whales at times, Their relatives own Mazatlan in North Lincoln City which is very popular with locals as well if you are up that way. They are just past the bridge on the right in downtown Depoe Bay.

Heading South into Newport is a quaint pizza cafe on the Southwest corner of Hwy 101 and NE 19th Street named Pizza Cucina. Wonderful people, fresh food, inexpensive and great for lunch.

We are not aware of any fine dining restaurants that we could recommend in Newport.

Heading North:

Kyllo’s at D River in Lincoln City. Kyllo’s is a very good restaurant that is more expensive than most casual restaurants, but delivers good food consistently and is never disappointing. Kyllo’s is a must for most visitors to the Lincoln City area, and a favorite of many with good reason. It’s very well managed with wonderful people, excellent chef, beach front with great views and great food. Much like TidalRaves, it leaves its guests longing to return on their next visit to the area. Reservations recommended for peak dinner times, they can be reached at 541-994-3179 or visit their website Here.

Blackfish Cafe is a local favorite in Lincoln City and reservations are recommended. Known for exceptional fresh cuisine in the area, we have never heard a complaint and are confident you will not be disappointed. Great service, wonderful people and exceptional food make for a consistently enjoyable experience. They can be reached at 541-996-1007 or visit their website Here.

Wildflower Grill is known for large portions of homemade food and homemade breads. This is another local favorite that is sure to please. They have huge breakfast portions and a friendly, casual atmosphere. Located on the very North end of Lincoln City past McDonald’s on the right. They can be reached at 541-994-9663.

These are our top picks and we feel confident recommending them to our guests to assure enjoyable dining experiences during their stay.
